Kitchen Assistant (Newquay)

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Malcolm Barnecutt Bakeries employ over 200 employees in locations across Cornwall and Devon and are accredited with being one of the top 150 employers in Cornwall.

We are now recruiting for an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join the Newquay team on full time, permanent basis. This is a busy role which will include weekends on a rota. To start asap. Hours 05:30 to 14:00 approx. over 5 days.

Daily kitchen duties will include the following:

• To assist with the preparation of fresh food produce including hot filled rolls
• Preparing deli recipes
• Baking off pasties and other baked goods
• Compliance with food hygiene and quality standards at all times
• Keeping production areas clean with adherence to cleanliness standards
• Working safely with industrial ovens
• To undertake such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job.

As a person you will require the following qualities:

• Good communication skills
• Be reliable and punctual
• Be physically fit (will be putting trays of pasties in the oven)
• Be flexible with shifts to help provide cover during holidays and sickness
• Ability to work well in a team
• Enthusiastic and hardworking
• Previous food preparation experience desirable but not essential
