Role Overview & Responsibilities

Lara Search are currently recruiting a Behaviour Mentor on behalf of an all-through special school based in Croydon that require 1:1 support workers to support students with behaviour and mental health difficulties. As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with students to help them overcome behavioural challenges and achieve their academic and personal goals

This role is will be start immediately on a full-time basis; Mon-Fri; 8.30-4/4:30pm
The pay is £85 - £90 a day.

This role requires care, commitment and extreme resilience due to the challenges.

We will only be putting forward committed support workers, that can make a difference to their students school life regardless of the challenges they may face within the role.

A number of students are prone to violence, swearing etc to which the school will provide extra training to deescalate situations that may arise.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with students who are struggling with behavioural challenges to develop individualized support plans.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students and work with them to develop positive coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to implement behaviour management strategies in the classroom.
  • Monitor KS3 – KS5 student progress and adjust support plans as needed.
  • Build positive relationships with students and families.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress.

Job Requirements:
  • Proven successful experience working with or caring for children or young people with mental health challenges.
  • Patience and positive nature to support students with challenging behaviour.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
  • Experience working with Challenging behaviour with strong behaviour management.
