Library Assistant

Knowsley Library Service has branches in Huyton, Kirkby, Halewood, Prescot and Stockbridge Village. The service lends books and resources to customers, supports them with access to computers and information, and provides activities to young people and adults.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated person to apply for the role of Library Assitant with Knowsley Library Service.

You will have proven experience of working in a modern library service or simillar environment. The successful applicant will be required to sustain our current high levels of customer satisfaction, and be able to demonstrate the capacity to contribute to the development of the service to maximise its potential.
Key areas of involvement will be:

• Reader development
• Information and Digital support
• Health and wellbeing
• Culture and creativity

Good customer care, communication, and organisational skills are essential. You must have a good general education and have experience in supporting customers in the use of IT resources. you should have a good knowledge of books and reading, and must be able to work as part of a team.
