Job Description

Night Warden

Location: Kings Education 4 St Leonards Road, Bournemouth BH8 8QH

Reports to: Head of Boarding (HoB)

Role description

The role of the Night Warden is to manage the health, safety and wellbeing of students in Kings’ U18 residences during night time hours and ensure adherence to residential rules. Night Wardens can work up to 4 shifts per week, over seven days, on a rota basis

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure student welfare is maintained during night time hours, between 21:00 pm and 9:00 am
  • To adhere to the routine of checks, ensuring students are in their rooms and lights are out in line with curfew
  • To act as a representative of the management team, contacting theon-call warden and/or HoB in emergency situations
  • To complete security patrol “rounds” and record any incidents that take place during the night
  • To ensure communal areas are kept tidy
  • To update notice boards as required
  • To provide assistance with arrivals and departures when these fall during the duty period
  • Any other duties as directed by the Head of Boarding

Person Specification

  • Previous experience working with children
