Job Description
Job Title: Security Officer
Location: DL3 0PH
Hours: 40 hours +
Shift: Days, Nights and weekends
Rate: £11.10
Job Purpose:
To support ISS Management in the delivery of security services on site. To be responsible for carrying out all of the daily security functions as outlined whilst ensuring a consistent, professional and excellent service delivery to the client on a daily basis.
To be responsible for hi-lighting any operational risks requiring review on site and maintain a focus on delivery of exceptional customer service and mitigating risks to the firm’s assets, people and reputation, through a range of security solutions in line with the agreed output specifications and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Physical Security, protection of client assets and people.
Ø Fire, Life & Safety
Ø Provide operational support and follow all reasonable requests as directed by Management
Ø Assist in maintaining compliance with all Health & Safety legislation
Ø Clear understanding of individual roles and responsibilities in relation to Incident Response & Escalation
Ø Ensure compliance and be fully conversant with Visitors/Staff entry and egress procedures
Ø Conduct any reasonable ad-hoc duties that may occur during the shift period as and when directed by Management
Ø Protection of the client’s site, the client’s staff, suppliers and visitors from theft, vandalism, violence and damage or other harm.
Ø Patrolling the clients site (internally and externally) to prevent fire, flood, theft and damage or circumstances
Ø Dealing promptly and professionally with any emergencies, suspicious incidents, events or circumstances
Ø Performing car parking duties on a daily basis as rostered
Ø Provide out of hours reception cover with the capability of providing support to the FOH team during the day as /when required.
Ø Issuing visitor and/or contractor passes as and when required
Ø Providing escorts as and when directed
Ø Be fully conversant with evacuation procedures
Ø Report any buildings issues or system faults to the Supervisor within a reasonable timeframe
Ø Other day-to-day responsibilities as dictated by circumstances and the needs of the business and the client.
Ø Assist in discharging the reporting responsibilities under the contract in relation to KPI and performance indicators
Ø Ensuring that any complaints are escalated to Management in a timely manner.
Ø Ensuring that all equipment provided to assist security is fully operational with any issues reported.
Ø Contribute to the provision of good quality incident reports either in hand written or electronic format
Key Issue
Ø Assist in maintenance of records of all keys issued on a daily basis.
Ø Out of Hours, receive and record all items of lost/found property
Ø Out of Hours arrange the return of lost/found property to the rightful owner following verification that the property is theirs
Ø Support the FOH team by ensuring all contactors provide the correct proof of identity prior to issuing an access pass and allowing entry
Access control
Ø Ensure an adequate stock of security consumables is kept within the office and advise the Supervisor as/when further stock is required
Ø Maintain/operate and administration of the access control system
Ø Ensure adherence to access control policy and procedures
Ø Respond to email and telephone requests relating to access issues in a timely manner
Ø Assist with the administration involved in building inductions including compiling and sending emails and taking photographs
Ø Issue and recover permanent and temporary access control cards
Ø The operation and administration of all other aspects involved in access control to a defined level
Ø Assist in maintaining compliance with all Health & Safety legislation.
Qualifications
Ø SIA Licence
Skills
Ø Client focus and understanding of expectations within client environment.
Ø PC literate – basic to intermediate understanding with Microsoft packages
Ø Communication and presentation skills
Ø Self-disciplined/flexible approach
Ø Ability to work under own initiative in a pressurised environment

- Corporate security: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- SIA Security Guarding, Door Supervisor or CP Licence (required)
