Role Overview & Responsibilities

At ISS we are currently hiring a Travel Safe Security Officer.

The role:

You will be based across the DLR Network. The shift pattern will vary between days/nights/weekends.

Your main responsibilities as Deport Security Officer:

1.Key duties

• Security of trains, stations, premises, personnel and equipment
• Detailed reporting through SIRV application/software of stations surveyed under DLR Network Security Program and to report all relevant incidents in the appropriate way, to the appropriate people as soon as possible.
• Keeping accurate patrol logs in the notebook and incident logs in line with station and KAD reporting procedures.
• To deter/deal with acts of anti-social behaviourin line with KAD Policies and TfL byelaws
• High profile on train and station reassurance patrols
• High profile static reassurance duties at stations
• To act at all times as ambassadors for DLR
• Provide customer care support to passengers
• Support to BTP policing Initiatives
• To maintain official access to DLR premises in relation to trespass (unauthorised persons in non-public areas)
• To identify and deal with, where practicably possible, any relevant byelaw infringement
• Weekly station equipment checks (testing telephone lines, alarms etc)
• To identify, report and deal with any unattended items using HOT protocol
• To identify, report and deal with any suspicious behaviour or potential terrorist threat using WHAT protocol

Person Specification:

We are looking for someone with good timekeeping and who is well presented. Due to the nature of the role you will need to be adaptable to various situations as well as have excellent communication skills as you will be communicating with members of the public and clients.
