Role Overview & Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join the team, based at Bishops Stortford, to provide support to the inspection department and ensure all work carried out is to the required standards and meets customer specifications. Your main duty will be to carry out First Offs and Final Inspections of the manufactured fabricated and assembled aircraft components.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Inspect parts to customer design data ready for dispatch.
  • Inspect parts to customer design data for first off operations.
  • Measuring of components with various hand tools (vernier callipers, micrometer, height gauges, etc.)
  • Ensuring compliance with inspection procedures.
  • Producing inspection reports where required.
  • Keeping relevant inspection records up to date.
  • Continually seeking to improve inspection activities.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness, neatness, and orderliness of his/her area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all documentation is in line with customer and business requirements.
  • Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Company.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Previous technical experience in a fine limit engineering manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar quality assurance inspection role.
  • Previous experience using hand measurement tools to a high standard.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
  • Use of PC and related programmes.
  • Strong communication skills.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE:

  • Experience within an aircraft industry manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in using FARO Arm measuring equipment.
  • Experience in using Laser Scanning equipment.
  • Experience using Q-Pulse CA-PA software.
  • Experience producing detailed inspection plans.
