Childcare Nursery Assistant

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Important Mini People is a day-care nursery based in Carrickfergus. We are open 7:15am to 6:15pm, Monday to Friday. Shifts are varied to cover these hours. We currently have a vacancy for a full-time nursery assistant.

Roles and responsibilities:

• To ensure a high level of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care and development for the children placed in the nursery.
• To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the manager and to give support to other personnel within the nursery.
• To adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures within the nursery.
• To plan daily routines for the children.
• To risk-assess all aspects of the daily routine to ensure a safe environment for staff, students, and children.

Essential criteria:

• Age 18 and over.
• Have a flexible attitude to work.
• Be a team player.
• Be motivated.

Desirable criteria:

• A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education, or equivalent qualification in childcare.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in childcare.
• Paediatric first-aid training.
• Safeguarding training.
