Role Overview & Responsibilities

Holker Group have an exciting opportunity to join Burlington Stone based in Kirkby in Furness within the Manufacturing Department on the as a Production Operative.

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Job Purpose: To safely manufacture and deliver stone extracted from the quarries to specification, meeting high quality standards, to support the business in meeting customer requirements.

Person Specification: Ideally the candidate will have experience of working in the stone industry, however this is not essential. This is a physically demanding role and requires the role holder to have some experience in and aptitude for manual work. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a team and on own initiative, possessing strong communication skills. Having the flexibility around working hours is essential, on the occasion you are required to work additional hours.

Principal Role Accountabilities:

· Sawing

· Packing / un packing stone products

· Drilling stone

· Packing stone

· Loading/unloading deliveries

· Stone selection

· Splitting / riving

· Dressing slate
