Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and experienced butcher to join our team. As a butcher, you will be responsible for preparing and selling high-quality meat products to our customers. Your role will involve cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products to customer specifications, as well as ensuring that all meat is of high quality and safe for consumption.

Responsibilities:

• Cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products according to customer specifications
• Ensuring that all meat is of high quality and safe for consumption
• Operating and maintaining equipment, including knives, saws, and grinders
• Providing excellent customer service, including answering customer queries and providing product recommendations
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
• Complying with food safety regulations and standards
• Managing inventory and stock levels
• Assisting with pricing and product selection decisions

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a butcher, with a strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques
• Excellent knife skills and the ability to use a range of cutting and preparation equipment
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work saturdays, as required
• Physical fitness and stamina, as the role involves standing for long periods and handling heavy meat products

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £12.00-£14.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime

Experience:

• Butchering: 2 years (required)
