HOURS: Full-time position, shifts based on 4-5 days out of 7 including weekends. Fratelli Belfast is open Monday - Sunday.

JOB LOCATION: Fratelli Belfast, located 60 Great Victoria Street Belfast, BT2 7BB.

SALARY: £40k -£45K per annum

About the role:

We are seeking to recruit a talented, proactive Senior Sous Chef to join our fantastic kitchen. We are looking for someone with an overall focus on delivering excellent food every time, someone who will provide support to our Head Chef and assist in the training and development of our team.

Serving traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist our evening menu includes authentic Italian Cicchetti perfect for sharing, mouth-watering pizza, pasta dishes, and tempting mini desserts all featuring on our unique menu. Our restaurant can serve up to and over 100+ customers daily mid-week and up to 250+ on weekend evenings, this restaurant is popular with Belfast locals, visiting tourists, theatergoers, and families of all sizes.

Job Description:

The main duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Assisting the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Managing the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Assisting in the training of junior chefs.
  • Working during service on different sections when required.
  • Assisting other chefs in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to the highest standard in a clean, tidy, safe and pleasant environment.
  • Assisting Head Chef in administrative tasks such as ordering, invoicing, and rostering.
  • Working within and maintaining all associated Health, Safety, Fire, and Hygiene guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensuring high standards are consistently met and making sure your personal appearance and uniform are in line with the required Resort standards at all times.
  • Attend any training that has been set up to aid your own personal development.

The Person:

Applicant must:

  • Be passionate about food and the job you do!
  • Have at least 2 years of experience working as a Sous chef.
  • Good organisational and leadership skills.
  • Have a hard-working attitude, be able to multi-task, and work well under pressure.
  • Be an enthusiastic and positive team player, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Have a flexible approach to working shifts and must be available to work daytime, evenings, and weekends.
