Graduate Buyer (Commercial Team)

Start date: July/August 2023

£26,000 - £28,000 starting salary (dependent on experience), 6 weeks annual leave, 15% staff discount and plenty of room for growth!

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.30 – 5.30), office-based role in Yardley, Birmingham

Farmfoods, an independent frozen food specialist, is on the lookout for dynamic graduates to dive into the exhilarating world of retail buying. With over 340 stores across the UK and a central commercial office in Birmingham, our family business is known for its exceptional quality and unbeatable value.

In this role, you'll learn and grow every day. Expect to manage your own category within a year, and achieve a set of KPIs. We offer full "on the job" training to get you up to speed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Product range reviews
  • Attending and contributing to supplier meetings
  • Price comparisons and developing pricing and promotional plans
  • Demand planning and placing purchase orders
  • Various administration tasks including setting up new lines, stock transfers & handling incoming calls

Our ideal candidate is a self-driven, motivated individual with strong analytical and numerical skills. A good working knowledge of Excel is essential. Some retail experience is desirable, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You'll have solid GCSEs (or equivalent) with at least a B in English and Maths, and a predicted 2:1 level or higher degree is a plus.
