Junior Embedded Engineer

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

This role will be responsible for designing and developing algorithms and software for our various touch sensor products. The role will include the opportunity to work on a wide variety of engineering problems within the capacitive sensing field and to partner with hardware, system, and application teams to develop and support products.

Main Duties:-

• Embedded C coding in support of various capacitive touch projects for tier 1 customersWorking at the cutting edge of capacitive sensing and display technologies

Capacitive sensing algorithm development and implementation
Multicore ASIC programming in C
Develop firmware drivers to configure and control IC hardware.

• Working in a continuous delivery team with consumer electronics customers
• Design, simulate, implement, debug and test algorithms for tracking and interpreting user input.
• Update and maintain our product firmware to support development and operations.
• Undertake feature development based on customer input.
• Interface with hardware design and development
• Apply sound engineering practices and adhere to company design rules (H/W & S/W) and QA guidelines.
• To acquire in-depth knowledge of relevant ESWIN products and their applications.
• Keep updated with latest developments in capacitive sensing and our target markets.
• 10%~20% travel may be required.

Engineering Skill Set

• Experience of firmware and software development in C.
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Experience of a high level language like MATLAB; Python; LabVIEW etc would be beneficial.
• Familiarity in using revision control tools like SVN and Git.
• Familiarity with task management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
• Capable of working across the full software life cycle.
• Experience of applying test driven development and behaviour driven development practices would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with Agile development, CI environment would be beneficial.
• Adequate documentation and writing skills.
• Experience using XML

Qualifications and Experience

• BSc or BEng Electronics/Computer Science/Software Engineering (or a similar relevant subject).
• Solid post-graduate or placement experience in Engineering.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Graduate

Salary: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
