CAD Technician

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

To produce general arrangement process plant & piping drawings, schematic P&ID diagrams for mechanical and electrical installations as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• To produced accurate drawings in line with deadlines and as required by Design Engineers
• Where necessary to amend drawings in line with instructions and feedback received
• To provide support and assistance to the Design Team and Project Engineers as required
• Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to company approval
• Undertake any other such duties considered to be commensurate with the experience of the post holder and the requirements of the post

Person Specification:

Essential Requirements:

• 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Grade C or above
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages
• Experience in working in an office environment
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable Requirements:

• Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems
• Knowledge of Modern Construction Techniques
• Knowledge of Cad/BIM Standards
• Experience/qualification in Autocad or similar drafting package
• Experience of other drafting packages including 3D CAD/CAD MEP/Navisworks/Revit/Plant 3D etc
• Previous experience working in a mechanical or electrical engineering environment
• Experience within the water industry

• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Cookstown: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
