Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job description

This is a great opportunity to join a respected, innovative and diverse London borough. The council is working together, across departments and with our local partners and residents, to make Ealing a better place to live and work. At the same time, we are focusing on prevention, efficiency and improving the way we deliver services to reduce our budget gap and ensure our services are sustainable and of good quality. Our programme is already delivering, but as government funding continues to shrink, there is still a lot of work to do.

The transport team manage transport for children, young people and adults with SEND to and from their place of education. We are looking for a Transport and Travel Officer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Positive and keen to make a difference
  • Able to prioritise their workload and respond to differing demands/situations as they arise
  • Able to communicate effectively with many different people
  • Organised and able to manage a busy workload
  • An effective supervisor able to manage two members of staff

Ealing is a great place for children and young people to grow up and we invite you to join Ealing and make a key contribution to furthering our ambitions for children, young people and adults. If you are interested and want to have an informal discussion about the role then please contact Donna Harrison on 020 8825 9081.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

This role is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process.

Closing date: 8 June 2023
