An opportunity has arisen for a professional Events Manager to join our fantastic team here at our unique, award winning Hotel and Barn Wedding venue. Managing a talented team, this is a pivotal role within our organisation and is responsible for delivering exemplary service to our customers from the very first contact.

Working in a fun environment with a passionate and enthusiastic team of people in stunning countryside on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border, the venue consists of a 19 bedroom hotel, authentic barn wedding venue and campsite. We also host the ‘Off The Tracks’ music festival each year and host the VIP camping for the Download festival.

We are family run business with a green ethos, which resulted in us being awarded ‘Highly commended’ at the 2022 Leicestershire Promotions Tourist Awards. We are also closed on Christmas day and Boxing Day each year.

To be successful you will need to possess the key essential qualities; exceptional administrative, verbal, and written skills as well as experience with event/front office software, excel and social media. A friendly and genuine disposition with clients and colleagues is an absolute necessity.

To ensure that our operational team can deliver a fantastic service you will need to have a high level of organisational and communication skills along with the all-important attention to detail.

Be calm and confident in managing customer expectations and resolving complains and creating solutions when these arise.

You will also require -

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position (ideally a wedding venue)
  • The ability to manage, motivate and inspire a team, whilst maintaining a hands-on approach
  • A desire to mentor, train and develop.
  • A commercial awareness and the ability to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Manage customers’ expectations effectively and ensure excellent presentation of our venue.
  • Ability to calmly respond to customer complaints and offer solutions to create customer satisfaction.
  • Lead a professional team who strive to consistently deliver the highest standards of service.
  • To work closely with the management team including events operations, accounts, bars and maintenance to ensure a one team approach to our service delivery.
  • Flexibility with Shift patterns in line with business needs, including evenings and weekends to conduct venue tours and client meetings.
  • Great product knowledge confidently responding to enquiries about room set ups, menus, contracts, terms and conditions and accommodation.
  • Ensure enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Form good relationships with our wedding suppliers.
  • Analyse enquiry and conversion data to provide guidance on future direction.
  • Proactive planning of yearly events calendar. Think creatively around our venue hosted events and wedding showcases.
