Role Overview & Responsibilities

The focus of your role:

Due to an increased project portfolio and a growing customer base, DGS Tech is recruiting for a Cyber Security Engineer.

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for working directly with customers to document and validate security threats, risk assessments and analyses; vulnerability scanning.

They will conduct meetings with the customer both by telephone and in-person, attend project meetings and provide status updates on the progress of activities and deliverables. Finally, the Consultant will provide customers with a full consultation service and be a ‘go-to’ resource for specific functional areas. Contribution to the solutions repository/best practices and knowledge share activities are required as participation in the Subject Matter Expert programs.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 5+ years of experience as a Cyber Security Engineer.
  • Min 2 years of experience in building and maintaining security systems.
  • Knowledge of hacking techniques and overall Cyber Security trends.
  • Proven and demonstrable customer representation and interaction with analysis and documentation capabilities with good listening, verbal and written communication skills.

The Key Responsibilities are

  • Awareness of IT security technology, and best practice
  • Identify any vulnerabilities and risks in hardware and software applications.
  • An understanding of networks and technical systems including cloud technology.
  • Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge.
  • Involve Conducting security risk assessments.
  • Risk mitigation strategy build.
  • Security incident management and forensics processes.
  • Security audit.
  • Attend workshops with teams and clearly undertake follow-up actions, providing inputs to the teams on the processes and communicating existing processes.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Operations Analysis – Analysing needs and product requirements to create a design
  • Monitoring – Monitoring and assessing system performance to make improvements or take corrective action
  • Troubleshooting – Determining causes of operating errors and deciding how to resolve these
  • Complex Problem Solving – Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of business levels.
  • Ability to take a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving and pay close attention to details with self-start and direct efforts based on high-level business understanding and access IT environment.
