Job description

Directorate: Communities and Place
Hours: 37 hours a week on a shift rota basis, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Derby Arena

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person who has experience in working in a busy and demanding multi-functional leisure facility. The post has a dual function of managing a diverse events programme, as well as being responsible for effective duty management. This incorporates the health and safety of the facility, as well as the welfare for staff and visitors, whether in general day to day sporting activities mode or delivering a major event.

The ability to plan, communicate and prioritise effectively is of high importance for this role. The post holder will be responsible for directly managing an onsite events team as well as working with cross departmental teams to ensure continuous improvement and successful event delivery. Additionally, the post holder will look at attracting new events to the venue.

If you have a keen interest in the events industry and enjoy working with a desire to exceed customer expectations and a drive to improve services, we would like to hear from you.

You should ideally possess an event management qualification or be able to demonstrate experience in event management and have a good understanding of Health and Safety within an event environment.

As part of our safer recruitment checks the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.

Please be aware that where there are staff within the organisation who are 'at risk' of redundancy, requirements to redeploy to another suitable role will apply and take priority.

Quick Tip! Remember to align your personal statement to the Essential Criteria in the Person Specification
