Role Overview & Responsibilities

Core Group are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to the right candidate. This great opportunity is within our own Utilities company working on a number of projects, with a number of exciting and large projects within the fibre world. Experience within this field essential.

The successfull candidate will have a proven track record of being an Operations Manager within a number of projects in the realms of streetworks/fibre utilities.

Responsibilities and duties

  • To oversee installation of telecoms FTTH infrastructure including underground and overhead
  • Overseeing all activities and staff to ensure that design, procurement, financial control and site activities are managed to the highest standards in all areas of delivery
  • Ownership of the civils and PIA elements of the projects, design, costs, programme, documentation, site activities, procurement etc
  • Working closely with our project teams, to ensure that technical requirements are understood and met
  • Ability to interpret contract commitments
  • Manage client/contractor expectations
  • Ensuring that the key deliverables within each stage of the projects are being administered to the highest quality
  • Demonstrate and develop and financial controls that detail profit and loss and cost to complete reports for each project within the programme
  • Manage office and site staff requirements and resourcing against multiple live projects
  • Participate in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.
  • Bring innovative ideas

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to create H&S documentation, progress reports and tracking documentation
  • Experience with engaging suppliers with an eye on new technology within the industry
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Able to organise yourself and others workload
  • Able to work in a strong team environment
  • Be proactive in your approach
  • An excellent communicator
  • A high level of diplomacy and customer focused
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Telecommunications or similar industry experience
