Role Overview & Responsibilities

Homeless Housing Support worker

A leading Housing association with a strong background in Homeless services have an incredible opportunity to join their Homeless support department based in Birmingham West Midlands.

The role

- Working closely with a portfolio of homeless service users in Birmingham

- Helping with Housing Benefit and advice with personal finances

- Reporting maintenance faults and arranging works with maintenance

- Carrying out health and safety checks on properties

- Referring services user to external providers

- Liasing with external agencies - Police, NHS, Care providers etc

- Reporting any safeguarding points of interest

- Find tenant that are in need of support.

- Maintain occupancy

- Basic admin duties filing, faxing, scanning and dealing with emails

Skills and experience

- 6-12 months experience with homeless services

- Must have Level £ in Health and Social care

- Ideally experience working with Challenging behaviours or substance abuse service users

- Ability to help manage personal finances and housing benefits

- Good communication skills

- 0900 - 1700
