Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

C&I NHS Foundation Trust are transforming community services with the development of Core Teams. These will develop support systems that reach the whole population, focusing on prevention and multi-agency collaboration.

The post holder will work 0.5 in an Islington Core Team and half time in the Islington SAMH CMHT for older people. Drawing on their expertise from the specialist older adult setting, they will champion older adult work in the Core Team.

In the Core Team the post holder will be part of a multi-agency service with a remit to support primary care colleagues in their work with people with mental health needs. You will provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment including individual and groups interventions. Additionally, you will provide consultation, liaison, teaching, training & advice to primary care and Core Team colleagues, with a particular focus on the needs of the older population for that locality.

When based in the SAMH CMHT, the post holder will provide a psychology service for clients under the care of this team. They will provide psychological assessment and treatment to older people, their families, carers and systems through individual work, group work and indirect work. They will offer advice & consultation on client's psychological care to referrers, MDT colleagues and non-professional carers. The post holder will contribute to the supervision of assistant psychologists, CAP's and trainees working in the service as appropriate.
