Lab Technician

Role Overview & Responsibilities

The role is based within a multi beverage (alcohol and non-alcohol) production environment and previous knowledge and experience of working within this environment would be advantageous but not essential as training is provided.

Job Summary:

To provide comprehensive Laboratory analytical services ensuring compliance with Company, Customer & Regulatory Bodies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take samples from the line for microbiological & analytical testing.
• To provide comprehensive QC Laboratory analytical services ensuring compliance with Client, Customer & Regulatory Bodies.
• Work safely in a laboratory environment.
• Carry out sampling & chemical and sensory testing or raw materials and finished products.
• Finished product testing to be completed as per company and customer requirements.
• Arrange the timely testing of (but not limited to) swabs, raw materials and finished product, where necessary, working cross functionally to ensure the correct lead time of products and raw materials is obtained.
• Testing and documenting working in accordance with company procedures.
• Calculate & authorise adjustment of out of specification products.
• Ensure operational compliance with procedures manuals.
• Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness remain high in the Lab at all times.

This role will initially be based on the following 3 shift pattern of :

• 6.00 am to 2 pm - Monday to Friday
• 2.00 pm to 10 pm (£15 per shift allowance) - Monday to Friday
• 10.00 pm to 6 am (£22 per shift allowance) - Sunday to Thursday

Working hours – 80 per fortnight (overtime above 80 hours paid at time and half) and paid fortnightly.

It is expected by the beginning of May 2023 (subject to change), the role will then move to a rolling 4 on 4 off shift pattern of:

• 4 days on – 12 hours in duration
• 4 days off
• 4 days on – 12 hours in duration
• 4 days off

When the role moves to working a 4 on 4 off pattern, salary payments will be made every 4 weeks and will be based on annual salary of £31,922.
