Role Overview & Responsibilities

As someone with a detailed knowledge of the manned security industry who wants to develop into a Security Controller, or someone with previous control room experience, you could join the team that is at the heart of Britsafe.

Soon to be celebrating our 30thanniversary, Britsafe considers itself to be one of the premier northern security companies.

Our 24-hour control room covers every aspect of Britsafe’s performance including:

· Co-ordinating out-of-hours emergency response

· Liaising with alarm monitoring centres, police and emergency contractors

· Helping security and cleaning staff who need assistance

· Dealing with changeable client requirements

· Ensuring the well-being and safety of our site-based security and cleaning teams

This is a challenging role that would suit people who thrive in fast-moving environments. The team rely on dependable colleagues, who take a genuine interest in our staff, making sure all shifts are covered without fail, and who are going to treat our people fairly and with respect.

Of course, the ideal candidate would be from a security background, be SIA licensed, have worked in a control room, with detailed knowledge of computer systems and packages like Timegate that are common in the security sector. But we value the person more than the experience. If you can multi-task, prioritise, keep your head, love working with people and genuinely take an interest, whilst determined to never let our clients down, then we want to hear from you. If you don’t have an SIA license, you’d need one before you start with us though.

The shift pattern would require you to work nights and two out three weekends. The average shift pattern is 42 hours a week and the pay is £12.87 per hour, giving £540 a week and more than £28k a year. Extra hours are available to cover colleagues.
