
Research Assistant
Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled Research Assistant to work on a contract research project that has been funded through Discoveric Bio Beta Ltd. The aim of the project is to engineer Escherichia coli strains to express different versions of the lipopolysaccharide transport proteins LptD and LptE and determine which parts of these essential proteins are important for function in E. coli.
You will already have experience in molecular biology and microbiology. Together, we will be focusing on DNA construction design and cloning, bacterial strain construction and the analysis of bacterial gene expression. You will be able to learn new techniques and we will support you with further training if needed.
The post is available for a fixed term of 6 months with an ideal start date in March 2023.
