Role Overview & Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

As part of the GBI stations team, the Safety & Compliance Executive supports the Regional Stations Manager (RSM) by ensuring safety & security standards and emergency management are consistently complying with the company’s local safety standards and policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Safety Management System

  • Supports Station Management team by safeguarding and improving flight safety and security, by ensuring that processes and procedures are executed and documented in full compliance with company and local authority requirements.
  • Prepares and assists the Station Management team with internal and external audits and inspections, analysing the findings, making recommendations and developing action plans to ensure full compliance with the requirements.

Incident Management

  • Monitor, analyse and steers through action planning the safety level of operations at all UK & Ireland stations, in close cooperation with the Station Management team and the head office safety departments.

Emergency Management

  • Ensures that, in cooperation with participating airlines, the Emergency Management organisation, manuals and materials comply consistently with the company’s standards as outlined in ‘Joint Emergency Planning Policy’.

Safety and Security Awareness

  • Support the Station Management team with the implementation, execution and follow-up of flight safety, work safety and security projects at the stations.

Training

  • Monitors and supports the Station Management team in training and educating AF KLM teams and handling agents to ensure security and safety compliance.

Other

  • Act as support for all UK & Ireland stations as and when required with any ad hoc projects presented by Regional Stations Manager and/or Head Office.

Functional knowledge

Thorough knowledge of ground safety policies, processes, procedures and station administration.

Software Knowledge

Basic Office 365

Breadth or Level of experience: Substantial experience of working in an operational airline position in areas such as station management, operations and/or aircraft handling.
