Estate worker / Digger driver

Role Overview & Responsibilities

The AH warren trust currently manages 2700 acres split across three main farms around the market town of Crewkerne. An opening has arisen for an estate worker with some digger driving experience to work within our small estate maintenance team.

Main Responsibilities to include:

Estate digger driver

· Working with the farms manager undertaking maintenance and restoration work around the estate. (Ditching, Track laying for example)

· Dung management- Working with the farm manager and contractors. Ensure field heaps are turned and rotted for spreading. Load spreaders ensuring all the dung is cleared and the field is ready for the next crop.

· Digger Maintenance- Ensure the Digger is regularly serviced and greased daily. In between jobs this should also include washing off any spoil.

· Records- Ensure a record of all pipework and drains being laid are kept for reference.

· Maintenance-Ensure the machinery being used on the farm are fit for use and have been logged on the company’s machinery app weekly.

· Working with the Building Manager to assist with any groundworks required across the estate.

Carry out seasonal work across the estate:

· Assist with seasonal horticultural activities such a mowing and strimming. This may include some tractor driving during the harvest season.

· Assist the estate team with any fencing or building projects.

· Assist the estate team with any horticultural projects or maintenance such as tree surgery, tree planting or hedgerow reconstruction.

· Carry out any water repairs and maintenance across the estate.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday – 40-45 hours per week, some weekend work and overtime may be required. In return, benefits with this role include 31 days holiday per year (including bank holidays), and enrolment onto our company pension scheme (once probation has been passed).

Experience:

• Digger Driving: 2 years (required)
• agricultural: 1 year (preferred)
