Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Title: Personal Assistant/Carer (Self Employed)

Rate of Pay: £18 per hour

Hours: 1.5 hours around 9am, 12.30pm, 4.30pm and 1 hour at 10.15pm

(7 days between 3 PAs). Please state your availability when applying.

The role is based in the client’s home in the CHRISTLETON area of CHESTER where she lives with her husband. It will be the Personal Assistant’s job to enable the client to live as independently as possible at home.

Good general health, physical fitness and reliability are important, as is the ability to make the client feel respected and comfortable in her own home.

Overview of Tasks: Duties will include:

· Assistance with transfers using a hoist system

· Support with personal care, toileting, getting up from and ready for bed

. Support with muscle and joint exercises

. Preparing breakfast and lunchtime snack

· Giving medication

. Light household tasks

Female required *exempt under the Equality Act 2010

Please note, as this is a Self-Employed position, we can only accept applicants who can provide us with the following:

· UTR number

· A DBS certificate from the update service, or willingness to apply for a new one at a cost to the applicant.

· References from previous clients/employers (or details to enable us to apply for these)

· Insurance policy details for Personal Assistant Insurance

· A copy of your contract/terms and conditions

Person Specification

· Good knowledge of manual handling. Experience in transferring, using hoist systems

· Able to follow instruction under employer’s direction.

· Honest and trustworthy

· Reliable, efficient and flexible

· Good sense of humour

· Car driver with own vehicle is essential (unless living within walking distance)

· Non smoker

Job offer subject to satisfactory references and DBS check required once successful. Client will be conducting the interviews.

It is a requirement, due to the nature of this role, that any applicant must have been vaccinated against COVID 19
