Animal care assistant

Our Animal Carers play a key part in delivering data and as part of the research programme, with the bonus of getting to work with cats and dogs on a daily basis.

Pay rate: Β£11.36 per hr (inclusive of shift allowance) - this will be increasing.

Hours: working on a rota that includes weekends and bank holidays.

THE JOB

As a unit specialist, the primary purpose of your role would be the delivery of research data, but also providing care for our dogs and/or cats while Health and Safety at the forefront of everything.

The role will offer you the opportunity to be directly responsible for the quality of data, whilst developing your knowledge of animal behaviour and training while working with our behavioural experts.

You do not need to have any animal experience, you will gain all the training required in the role.

KEY OUTPUTS/SKILLS REQUIRED

In this role you will:

  • Deliver research tasks (collecting data/biological samples)

  • Care for our dogs/cats through husbandry and training

  • Experience in working with Microsoft Office

  • Work weekends and bank holidays on a rota pattern

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Experience of having responsibility for planning your day-to-day tasks is essential.

Experience of working without supervision in a fast-paced environment, as part of a team is essential.
