Role Overview & Responsibilities

At ABP Food Group our focus is on consistently producing top quality products across all 4 divisions. We strive to provide the highest levels of service via a flexible, reliable and competent team throughout our business.We are seeking a Loading Bay Operative to join our established logistics team to help ensure we deliver quality beef to our customers.
The Loading Bay start at 5:30am and finish once all of the product is loaded this can be anywhere in the 11am to 2pm range.

- To ensure all tasks performed are as per training given.
- Load and unload vehicles and trailers with fresh meat produce
- Ensure customer orders are filled correctly, strict rotation of stock and correct loading of trailers
- Ensure thorough checks are made on date codes.
- Responsible for booking in/out of product.
- Liaise effectively with the team and the Sales Department.
- Assist fridge staff as and when required.
- Carry out and complete daily forklift inspection reports.
- Responsible for keeping the loading bay in a clean and tidy condition.
- Provide a polite and efficient service for calling customers.
- Communicate well with the Loading Bay Supervisor and all other team members.
- Training and Development - To help the Supervisor identify training needs and opportunities by highlighting your own needs at appraisals..
- To work to agreed training plan, bringing any skill shortfalls/difficulties to the attention of the Supervisor.
- Ensure understanding of expected standards and targets before commencing any task.
- To carry out all assigned tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly with regard to Health and Safety and Food Safety.
- To ensure that were PPE is provided for any of the above task, that it is correctly worn/used, maintained and any defects reported to the relevant key colleagues.
- To ensure that all product is produced to meet customer/company specifications, whilst also maximizing yield and minimizing waste.
- To have a flexible approach to workloads/hours to ensure agreed throughput and yield targets are met.
- To report any problems regarding equipment/machinery to management.
- Adhere to Company hygiene practices & safe food production.
- To comply with health & safety rules, to prevent / minimise the risk of accidents.
- Other duties as assigned.
