Junior Copywriter / Content Writer

Role Overview & Responsibilities

21Digital is looking for an enthusiastic, creative content writer to join our award-winning digital marketing team, and help take our content to the next level.

Reporting to our Search Manager and working from our Blackburn-based studio, you’ll be creating regular blog posts and articles for our broad portfolio of clients across the Home & Garden, Retail and Automotive sectors, as well as proofreading, writing and editing newsletters and webpages, and working alongside the wider digital team.

This is not a hybrid role – you’ll be based full-time in our Blackburn studio, working with a great team in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. We’re all about investing in our staff in the long term, so there are lots of opportunities to expand your existing skillset, too!

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Crafting regular blog posts and articles for our ongoing content marketing strategies
• Generating and researching your own content ideas for our quarterly content plans
• Proofreading, writing & editing website pages for on-page SEO
• Providing support to the wider marketing team
• Writing regular newsletters for our ongoing email marketing campaigns
• Creating social media posts and topics

Required skills

You need to have:

• Proven copywriting skills
• A keen eye for detail, with meticulous attention to spelling and grammar
• A willingness and readiness to learn, and to potentially expand your existing knowledge and skills
• An open mind to new ideas and constructive criticism
• Strong time management and organsiational skills, with an ability to self-manage
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as the job sometimes requires conversing directly with clients (don’t worry, they’re all lovely!)
• An active interest in all things digital / marketing

Beneficial but not essential:

• A degree in journalism or similar area
• A copywriting portfolio is always useful (but don’t worry if you don’t have one – as long as we can still get a flavour of how you write!)
• Any existing knowledge about any of our key sectors

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £18,000.00-£20,000.00 per year
