The Botswana Democratic Party has finally released the names of people who will contest for the party primary elections following a long vetting process.![]()

Only four of current Members of Parliament will be unopposed. The MPs include, the Vice President Slumber Tsogwane as a candidate for Boteti West who is also party Chairperson, the party Deputy Chairperson Dr. Lemogang Kwape of Kanye South, Member of Parliament for Molepolole South Kabo Morwaeng who is also Minister for State President, and Member of Parliament for Shashe West Fidelis Molao.![]()

Other constituencies where there will be no primary elections are Palapye where the party has fielded Kungo Mabogo, Serowe North which will be contested by Ogaketse Mathware, and Serowe North where the party will be represented by Forster Seretse.![]()

The party has indicated that the Maun East constituency's consultation process is still underway and the party members will be informed as soon as it is complete.
