Government yesterday announced yet another ban on the sale of alcohol at all liquor outlets in the country as the number of COVID-19 positive cases and COVID19-related deaths continue to surge.
A Government Gazette released yesterday indicates that the suspension is based on the evidence that consumption of alcohol increases the risk posed by COVID19 due to its negative effects on adherence to COVID19 protocols. It says all liquor outlets in the country will be closed with immediate effect until further notice.
The communique further explains that liquor includes all traditional beers.
