BOTSWANA AND LESOTHO AGREE TO FAST TRACK WATER PROJECT
Written by admin on
Botswana and Lesotho have agreed that an envisaged water project between the two countries should be one of the priority projects they would want to fast track. President Mokgweetsi Masisi stated in a media briefing during his state visit to Lesotho this week that he discussed that prospect with the Lesotho Prime Minister.
He said the two countries would like to look into the possibility of having that huge project in place in the same way Botswana and Zambia successfully brought the Kazungula Bridge dream into reality.
Masisi noted that in the event the project is undertaken, the pipeline and other infrastructure will pass through another sovereign state, in this case South Africa, and therefore there will be a need to engage that country for smooth implementation of the project and to ensure that the three countries benefit from it.
