At least 100 patients of kidney disease have tested positive for COVID-19, with around 5 percent of this figure having succumbed to the disease. Speaking today ahead of Kidney awareness month in two days, Nephrologist responsible for the patient’s, Dr. Mothusi Moloi, says this is from around 600 patients diagnosed with kidney disease in the country. Moloi said these patients, who are on dialysis, are at high risk of complications associated with COVID. He said most patients however are asymptomatic, but those that aren’t have been found to be the most at risk of fatalities.
