SPECIAL COURT ON GENDER BASED VIOLENCE BEGIN IN MOLEPOLOLE

The Administration of Justice today commenced the Special Court on Gender Based Violence in Molepolole.In a statement released by the Registrar and Master of the High Court, Michael Motlhabi, the special court commenced at the Molepolole Magistrate Court with over 200 cases to be heard.
Four Magistrates will take up the assignment for a period of three months, led by the Chief Magistrate of Molepolole Magistrate Court according to the statement which further says that three Mobile Courts have been dedicated for this assignment, to assist villages such as Takatokwane, Letlhakeng, Sojwe and Thamaga on days to be announced.
The minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Kagiso Mmusi told Parliament recently that the Special Courts on GBV will be rolled out in Molepolole, Palapye, Francistown and Maun to address the escalating numbers of GBV cases around the country.
