KGOSI GABORONE CALLS ON TRADITIONAL LEADERS TO HELP FIGHT GBV

The Chairperson of Ntlo ya Dikgosi, Kgosi Puso Gaborone has called on traditional leaders across the country to join in the fight against Gender Based Violence.
Kgosi Gaborone when official opening the 4th meeting of the 4th house of Ntlo ya Dikgosi this morning said that since April this year, more than 700 cases of gender-based violence were reported to the police. 38 cases of defilement were reported as part of the 700 cases reported during the first lockdown, which was imposed to curb the spread of COVID19.
Gaborone added that four women have since been brutally murdered in different towns last week, including the 37 year old woman in Molepolole who was allegedly shot dead by a 31 year old man, who is currently in police custody.
