The Botswana Examinations Council will this year spread out the marking of school leavers examinations across the country as opposed to having one central marking area.
BEC Executive Secretary Professor Brian Mokopakgosi when in a national address yesterday, said this would allow for proper adherence to COVID-19 mitigation protocols, which limits the movement of people across zones. In the past Gaborone has been the central location where all examinations were marked. He said here will be a maximum of 300 examiners per marking centre.
Professor Mokopakgosi further said the Standard 7 examinations across the country which began this week have progressed well despite the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country adding that the examinations will be concluded next week Monday.
