The Minister of mineral resources, green technology and energy security, Lefoko Moagi says the ministry has enhanced COVID19 testing at major plants and mines across the country. This as it has been established that cases spread quickly within such areas.
The MORUPULE colliery has been closed since Tuesday this week following one person’s exposure to COVID-19 and is awaiting confirmation of the positive case.
Moagi said a decision was taken to close off the mine temporarily, while contact tracing is ongoing.
