The Member of Parliament for Nata/Gweta Polson Majaga, says that he will not take leave of absence from Parliament, following a petition which was delivered by member of Parliament for Sefhare/ramokgonami Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang a week ago on behalf of the Botswana Child Rights Network.
Majaga presented a statement in Parliament this afternoon in which he expressed his displeasure regarding the petition. Majaga called on the house to allow the matter to be left to the courts of law. The legislator seemingly aiming at Dr. Gobotswang, said that the petition defamed him and was meant to score cheap political points or seek funding from donors through dubious means.
He therefore called on the Speaker of the national assembly to demand Dr. Gobotswang to withdraw the petition which demanded Majaga to take leave of absence from parliament until his defilement case has been concluded by the court of law.
