Water Utilities Corporation says the recently released rain forecast of normal to above normal, is favorable to the country’s dam levels which are declining.
The senior Manager, Water Resources at Water Utilities, Lesego Raditsebe said the they anticipate that the rains will be enough to supply the country’s major dams with water to last until the next rainy season.
Raditsebe said currently water Utilities is concerned by the Gaborone Dam as well as the Thune dam in the Bobirwa area, which have the lowest levels when compared to other dams in the country.
Gaborone damn currently stands at 55 percent, down from 62 percent this time last year. However, this is enough to supply the greater Gaborone for the next 22 months.
Thune dam stands at 48 percent, down from 50 percent during the same time last yea
