The Water Utilities Corporation says that domestic debts over water bills grew from about 52% before the state of emergency to 68% during the state of emergency which was declared in April this year.
WUC Director, Customer Care, Goitseone Tshiamiso told Yarona FM news today that the bulk of the debt lies with domestic users as other entities such as government and the private sector are making efforts to pay their water bills.
Tshiamiso said they have noticed that domestic customers make less of an effort to pay their water bills. He advised that their accounts should be at the right management level when the Corporation resumes to its normal operations after the State of Emergency.
