GABORONE TAXI ASSOCIATION NEGATIVELY IMPACTED BY FUEL SHORTAGES
The Chairman of the Gaborone Taxi Association, Edson Tlhomelang says the financial losses being experienced since the scarcity of fuel in recent weeks is similar to what they felt during the two months long lockdown, imposed by government to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The country has been experiencing acute shortage of fuel, despite government assurances that there will be enough fuel.
Tlhomelang says their members are struggling to keep their business afloat due to the challenges they are facing in recent months.
Tlhomelang further says they do not expect passangers to be stranded this evening. Scores of passangers were stranded yesterday because public transport operators ran out of fuel.
