Very Cold Weather Anticipated

Written by on May 27, 2020

The department of meteorological services has issued out an alert to the effect that extremely cold temperatures are expected this week in southern Botswana.
Chief Meteorologist Radithupa Radithupa said the chilly weather is expected to be brought on by a cold front from the Atlantic Ocean followed by a high-pressure system with cold dry air which will lead to a drop in temperatures in the southern parts of the country.
Radithupa says that Southern Botswana is expected to have temperature lows of -6 degrees or 2 degrees Celsius and expected highs of 16 degrees and 21 degrees Celsius tomorrow and on Thursday.
These temperatures would be among the lowest temperatures recorded in the country.
Crops according to Radithupa are expected to be hard hit and possibly damaged, while the cold weather could lead to diseases such as colds and flu.
The nation is therefore advised to make the necessary precautions in anticipation of the cold weather.
