Written by on May 26, 2020

Public transport operators have been urged to adhere to health protocols and warned that a team ensuring that there is adherence has been dispatched to conduct random inspections on taxis, combis and buses.
This comes as the economy gradually opens and the public is beginning to use public transport and traffic congestion begins to swell up in the streets of the city. Private cars are also increasingly in use following the release of the lockdown period.
The department of road transport and safety has encouraged public transport operators to adhere to COVID19 health protocols. The Public Relations Officer at Department of Road Transport and Safety, Mmapula Sampson speaking to Yarona FM news said the protocols include sanitising passengers, registering their names and ensuring that they have masks on.
